The Board is mandated to oversee the development, promotion and regulation of boxing and wrestling in Namibia. It also aims to cultivate an enabling environment that encourages participation, identifies emerging talent, and supports those within the boxing and wrestling fraternity to achieve their full potential.
The Ministry revealed that the Board is chaired by Ronald Patrick Kurtz. Other members include Dr Naftal Natanael, Anita Tjombe Gawanas, Monalisa Molebugi and Kaura Tjimuine.
Steenkamp called on the Board to approach its work with unity and a clear sense of purpose, urging members to prioritise the growth and advancement of boxing and wrestling over the next three years.
“We are not taking any chances; we call on you to do your best. We believe in consultation and doing things correctly,” she said.
